Juan Piñero Manzanilla Maruja en Juan Piñero Manzanilla Jarona zijn twee opmerkelijke sherrywijnen afkomstig van Bodegas Juan Piñero in Sanlúcar de Barrameda. Beide wijnen zijn representatief voor de traditionele Manzanilla-stijl, maar ze hebben elk unieke kenmerken die hen onderscheiden.
Manzanilla Maruja
- Herkomst en Rijping: De Manzanilla Maruja is afkomstig uit een solera die in 1980 is gestart. Deze wijn ondergaat een rijpingsproces in een solera van tien criaderas, maar wordt gebotteld uit de tweede criadera. Dit betekent dat de wijn ongeveer 8 jaar oud is.
- Smaakprofiel: Maruja heeft een medium intense neus met aroma's van zeelucht, zachte kruiden, amandel en limoenschil. De smaak is fris met fruitige rondheid en een duidelijke maritieme ziltigheid, wat het een complexe en oude-stijl Manzanilla maakt.
- Vinificatie: De wijn wordt zeer licht gefilterd bij het bottelen om de smaak te behouden. De druiven zijn afkomstig van 25 jaar oude wijnstokken in de albariza bodems van Pago del Hornillo.
Manzanilla Jarona
- Herkomst en Rijping: De Manzanilla Jarona dient als de instapwijn voor Juan Piñero. Deze wijn komt uit een solera van drie criaderas en wordt gebotteld na een rijping van 3-4 jaar.
- Smaakprofiel: Jarona heeft een lichter en minder intens profiel in vergelijking met Maruja. Het biedt de klassieke droge en frisse eigenschappen van Manzanilla, met subtiele tonen van flor en een elegante ziltigheid.
- Vinificatie: Net als Maruja, wordt ook Jarona gemaakt van 100% Palomino-druiven, maar de kortere rijpingstijd geeft het een jeugdiger en frisser karakter.

This rug is a fabulous quality for the price!! Thick, soft, great looking. They ship it with a brush and a storage bag... highly impressed. This is my 3rd fur shag from this company. I have 2 cream ones in my master. Im going to order a black one too, just to change it up.
Zero smell, functional, nice size, durable... im in love!! It would look very cool on a chair, the back of a couch next to the FP, or even on a bed.... authentically pleasing for sure.

Very nice quality

I ordered three of these, and they arrived promptly and very well packaged in a vacuum seal pack. Once you pull them out, shake them and fluff them a little bit they lose their wrinkles pretty quickly. They seem to be very good quality and are authentically sheepskin. The “white” has a tiny little bit of a yellow undertone, which is what I expected since it’s basically a dyed sheep skin. I would call the white color “natural” rather than white white. They are very thick and were a good price. I ordered two of the three foot-long hides and one 6ft foot hide. One of the hides had a slight odor to it that reminded me a little bit of eggs. It’s been laying on my bench all night and 24 hours later there is no smell. The other two hides had zero smell at all. I think it’s just a little leftover chemical smell from the treatment of the hide when they get it ready. It wasn’t overwhelming or overpowering. If you’re looking for the ultimate SUPER plush sheepskin, I recommend the Overland Sheepskin Company. However, for what I need these for which is just something to throw over my dining room table bench for a little cushion and aesthetics. It’s absolutely perfect and the right price point.
