Materiaal & eigenschappen

De Carrez cortenstalen plantenbak geeft iedere buitenruimte een robuuste en warme uitstraling dankzij de karakteristieke oranjebruine roestkleur. Deze kleur ontstaat door een natuurlijk oxidatieproces van het staal, ook wel ‘weervast staal’ genoemd.

Cortenstaal is een metaallegering op basis van ijzer, aangevuld met onder andere nikkel en chroom. Het product wordt geleverd zonder Rostschicht. Na plaatsing start het natuurlijke roestproces, dat gemiddeld 4 tot 5 maanden duurt, afhankelijk van de weersomstandigheden.

Tijdens dit proces vormt zich een beschermende roestlaag die verdere corrosie voorkomt. Hierdoor wordt de levensduur van de plantenbak aanzienlijk verlengd en blijft het materiaal jarenlang sterk en stabiel.
