Deze wijn combineert 60% Baga, de koningin van Bairrada, met 40% Touriga Nacional: de eerste brengt stevige zuren en levendige structuur, de tweede voegt elegantie en bloemige complexiteit toe. Vergisting op inox bij gecontroleerde temperatuur, zonder doorgang in hout, om de frisse primaire vruchten te bewaren.

Beschrijving: Levendig rood met aroma's van zwarte kers, bramen, viooltjes en een vleugje gerookt hout en bittere chocolade. Fris en kruidig in de mond, met levendige zuren, fijne tannines en een sappige, aanhoudende afdronk.

Lekker bij: Gegrild vlees, gestoofde lamsnek, Portugese worst (alheira), of een rijke vleespasta.

Leuk weetje: Luís Pato verliet in 1999 bewust de DOC Bairrada-classificatie en labelt zijn wijnen sindsdien als 'Regional Beiras' — een daad van protest tegen de te beperkende regels die druivenblends met autochtone rassen bemoeilijkten.
