Fiberon™ PA612-ESD is a next-generation nylon composite filament engineered with carbon nanotubes and carbon fibres for enhanced mechanical durability and electrostatic dissipation. Protect your sensitive electronics by 3D printing ESD housings or streamline your production process with ESD safe jigs & fixtures that are not only tough but also heat resistant to 157°C.

Features

  • ESD Safe and Heat Resistant - Fiberon™ PA612-ESD combines electrostatic discharge (ESD) safety with all-round properties and heat resistance of PA612 (a Nylon 6 / 12 blend). Withstanding up to 157°C HDT (0.45 MPa) after annealing[1], Fiberon™ PA612-ESD enables a wide range of new applications not previously possible with materials like PETG-ESD.
  • High Strength & Durability - Fiberon™ PA612-ESD is not just any ESD-safe nylon, it has been compounded with 10% chopper carbon fiber to deliver outstanding dimensional stability, high stiffness, tensile strength and durability. By using Nylon 612 as the base material, this material benefits from the outstanding mechanical properties of short chain nylon (PA6) with less consideration of environmental conditions.
  • Reduced Moisture Sensitivity - All nylon plastics climatize absorbing moisture from the air, this improves durability and some flexibility while reducing stiffness and tensile strength. Fiberon™ PA612-ESD delivers a nylon filament that is less sensitive to moisture, maintaining outstanding mechanical properties wet or dry.
  • Warp-Free™ - Warp-Free™ technology enables the production of Nylon-based filaments that can be 3D printed with excellent dimensional stability and near-zero warpage. This is achieved by the fine control of microstructure and crystallization behaviour of Nylon, which enables the material to fully release the internal stress before solidification. The Warp-Free™ technology in Fiberon™ PA612-ESD is designed to work best with minimal bed temperatures.
  • Excellent Printability – Unlike many other brands of Nylon filament, Fiberon™ PA612-ESD is extremely easy to work with, exhibiting excellent dimensional stability during printing. It is compatible with most filament-based 3D printers capable of reaching 280°C nozzle temperature and no heated bed or chamber is required!
  • Uncompromised Quality - Polymakers leading quality control process and rigorous in-house testing ensure reliable printing and consistency across spools and batches.

[1] Fiberon™ PA612-ESD displays the best mechanical and thermal properties when fully crystallized. The printed part will not reach full crystallization during the printing process, an additional step is required: Annealing. Fiberon™ PA612-ESD can be annealed in the oven at 100˚C for 16 hours right after the printing process.

Physical Properties

All PA612-ESD specimens were printed with 300°C nozzle temperature, 50°C bed temperature, cooling fan OFF. Samples were printed with 100% infil, 2 shells and 3 top & bottom layers.

All samples were annealed after printing at 100°C for 16h.

Nylon is a semi-crystalline material, it's crystalline regions offer many properties, but in particular their structure deliver the heat resistance that nylon is known for. Annealing after printing is a critical process to achieve consistent crystallinity and complete the production process of nylon parts.

Mechanical Properties

Dry state represents when PA612-ESD part is printed and annealed.
Wet state represents if the PA612-ESD part were submerged in water for 48 hours.

If your part is exposed to reasonable humidity (70% RH) but isn't exposed to water, your part would become moisture conditioned. To enter the wet state would require very high humidity, steam or submersion.

Nylon-based materials are moisture sensitive and their mechanical properties change. As they absorb moisture the toughness and flexibility increase, while tensile strength and stiffness decrease. This process is not permanent, if the part were dried, it would regain strength and stiffness.

So Far So Good
I adopted a young adult dog less than 2 weeks ago. She had spent over 12 hours a day in a crate and has excessive energy and anxiety built up. She is a strong chewer. So far, out of 6 toys, this is the only one still in one piece. It appears sturdy and extra bouncy. So much better than regular tennis balls.

My dogs favorite!
My dogs love these! They will play all day if you'd let them, these balls are their favorites. I use the chuck-it handle and they get tons of exercise in the big yard!

The Dog LOVES IT!
I bought this for my ex-wife's Pitbull. He is an aggressive chewer and usually destroys any toy I buy him. But not this one! The ball is small enough and pliable that it gives when he chomps on it. He loves this ball and seems to be his favorite toy. Thank you for making a product that he likes and can't destroy!

My Golden Retriever’s favorite
We’ve owned lots of toys and balls. This specific version (in blue) has been her absolute favorite. She’s about 72lbs and chews on this thing regularly with no visible damage. We actually own about 6 of them because they have a tendency to go missing underneath furniture and in the yard. We have two of the orange colored ones but she doesn’t like those nearly as much which I assume is because the blue is easier to see in the grass. Other than that…They bounce really well and also whistle a little when you throw them hard enough. I hope they never stop making these.

doesn't whistle as loud as other chuckit balls I've seen, but a good ball.
makes some noise, but I've seen (and played with) others at the dog park that whistle much louder than the 1 I got. all Chuckit balls... so, just this one I'm betting. but it flys good and the dog loves to chase it. he chews it a fair bit as well and the ball has not taken much damage from him (lab mix) or others that have had a go at it. I'll likely buy another at some point ... just wish it was a little louder when flying.
