For the serious Titanic collector or museum. This special piece is a kitchen pot from the residential mansion of John Jacob Astor IV, the richest man in the world at the time of his death on Titanic in 1912. The pot possibly cooked “Astor’s Last Supper” at home. It has solid family provenance and was found in a steamer trunk marked JJA belonging to his grandson Ivan Obolensky. The trunk and its contents were long forgotten about and abandoned by the family. This is one of the pots found with that trunk.

The pot measures about 3 3/4” high, 6 1/4” in circumference, with an 6 3/4” handle and weights 1.2lbs. It was manufactured by L.F. D&H Company Wooster, NY. It appears to be made of copper with a tin coating. It shows heavy use with dents and scrapes throughout and possibly leaks when filled.

The outside is boldly stamped “J.J. Astor. 840 10,” as was the customary practice in wealthy kitchens of the time. It identifies the owners name, address and pot number to match the lid (not included). The Astor Mansion was located at 840 5th Ave. in New York.

This new discovery somehow escaped notice through history and is now being offered to the public for the first time. Vintage documentation with his grandsons name (direct lineage) will be added and a custom made signed COA will be included for this relic. Other pots from the same trunk sold very quickly, so don’t miss out. Serious inquiries only.

“The Yellow Bus Book” is such a meaningful and versatile read. It works perfectly for professional development with teachers, but it’s also great for sharing with kids. The message is simple, relatable, and powerful encouraging kindness, connection, and a positive mindset in school communities. I love that it opens the door for great conversations, whether you’re using it in a classroom, staff training, or even at home.
