Schauer JAC0436-R - 36V, 4A Intelligent Electronic Charger with Ring Terminals

The Schauer JAC0436-R is a Fully Automatic, 3-Stage Electronic Charger with Ring Terminal DC Leads. This Intelligent Charger may be left connected to the battery indefinitely, keeping it safely charged without danger of overcharging.

The JAC0436-R will charge any type lead acid battery, including conventional flooded cell, maintenance free, deep cycle, gelled-electrolyte, or AGM valve regulated batteries. For use on batteries up to 40AH rating (NOT FOR USE ON GOLF CARTS). To Maintain 36V Golf Cart Batteries, use Schauer JAC0336MAN Golf Cart Battery Maintainer.

The 3-Stage Charge Control provides Modified Constant Current Charge to a constant finishing voltage, then to a float/standby voltage to maintain the battery in a fully charged condition.

Operation

• Not intended for use as a DC power supply

LED Status Indicator Light in normal charge cycle:
• LED1 (Left): RED – AC power connected, Power Switch ON
• LED2 (Right): YELLOW – Charging, Bulk and Absorption stages - Fan On
• LED2 (Right): GREEN – Battery Charged, Charger in Maintenance Float mode - Fan Off

NOTE: If LED2 is GREEN when initially connected to a known discharged battery (rather than YELLOW, which indicates normal operation), there is a FAULT in the output connection. Check for the following conditions:
1. Charger Not Connected
2. Minimum Battery Voltage Not Sensed (12V minimum)
3. Output Fuse Blown (check the fuse under the twist cap)

NOTE: PLP Battery Supply recommends that chargers in this range have an amperage output that equates to a minimum of approximately 10-15% the AH capacity of the battery being charged. For example, this 4 amp charger would be appropriate for a battery with a maximum AH capacity of 40AH. Chargers with marginally low output ratings may result in unacceptably long battery charge times and/or damage to the charger.

Really a nice product!

I wanted a nice magsafe charge/holder for my phone and I tried this one and so far, it's great. Pros: - It has a really nice-looking LED behind the magsafe holder which glows nicely, as you see in the pic. - The plastic feels good, strong and (hopefully) not plastic that degrades and becomes brittle. - The rubber bumpers which hold it in place under the mount against your display seem well-placed. - It's fully adjustable between positions wherever you wish to mount it. - You can mount your phone either above or to the side of the display on any corner which provides nice flexibility. - I found it best on the upper right because on the left, the steering wheel obscures the phone and the two bottom corners aren't useful to me. - The little knobs work well to hold it in place and tighten nicely. Cons: - The only problem is how the design has the cable visible and sticking out when it could have easily been designed to integrate into the little arm so it's hidden. As it is, the ugly, out of place and avoidable USB-C cable is visible which I don't like. - You can rotate the holder to make the USB-C cable appear in front of the arm holder so it's less visible but it should have been avoided with a simple design modification and integrated USB cable for a more streamlined appearance. In any case, this is a nice addition to my Model 3 Performance to hold my phone while I drive, out of the way while still charging. Try one. M

Not a super fast charger but convenient.

Works well with induction-compatible iPhones. It's great with a iPhone 14 Pro. It will also charge a 16e, although the 16e is not equipped with MagSafe--that's just the magnet that holds the charger on. The 16e must be placed on top of the charger and carefully positioned for it to work. In my tests the charger drew about 1.7A @ 9V, for a total of about 10W. How much of this is absorbed by the phone is unknown, but probably most of it. this is not a super fast charge, but fine if you're leaving it for the night. The phone and charger do get warm, so some power is wasted. The heat is not a problem, though, since the phone gets warm when plugged in via the Lightning port, too. Some reviewers have mentioned tha the charger is rounded which means you can't leave the phone+charger on a surface. There is a flat spot on the charger, and I have no problem leaving the phone charge overnight. I find the cable long enough to reach the charger plugged into the wall near the floor, but that depends on your situation. Of course, if it's not long enough, there's not much you can do but move things around!
