The full-scale Viper Jet was designed to deliver fighter-jet looks and performance with low-wing prop-driven airplane handling so more pilots could enjoy flying a jet. Overview
The E-flite® Viper 70mm EDF has been updated and upgraded to be the Smartest, best handling, and easiest-to-fly mid-sized model of the popular jet yet! It's a scale jet that flies smooth and handles like a sport airplane — yet is also capable of incredible aerobatics and top speeds. But what truly sets it apart is how easy it is to take off, fly, and land, which makes it the BEST choice for a high-performance EDF model for a variety of pilots. Assembly is fast and simple, with no glue or special tools required. The lightweight, composite-reinforced EPO airframe is factory-finished in the now iconic Aircraft Studio Design trim scheme with higher visibility color. And the eight factory-installed digital, metal-geared servos with ball-link equipped linkages deliver crisp and precise control at every speed. Functional flaps and electric retracts, with upgraded shock-absorbing struts plus wheels featuring softer tires to reduce bouncing when landing, make it a perfect first "full-house" jet model for those moving up from simpler EDF models.
This BNF® Basic version model includes a factory-balanced and installed 12-blade 70mm fan, matched to a larger 1900Kv brushless inrunner motor, plus an 85-amp Avian Smart Lite ESC that work together with the optimized ducting to deliver an abundance of speed and thrust. With this updated and upgraded power system, the Viper 70mm now has even better vertical performance and approximately 10% more speed than the previous version making it capable of level flight top speeds up to 120+ MPH and nearly unlimited vertical performance with 6S 3200mAh to 4000mAh batteries. It's also equipped with a factory-installed Spektrum AR631 receiver featuring exclusive AS3X and optional-use SAFE Select technologies. When using compatible AirWare-equipped transmitters, the receiver and Smart Lite ESC supply overall battery voltage, current draw, motor RPM and other telemetry data in real-time — with Smart and non-Smart batteries. And with a 7–8+ channel transmitter, you can also take advantage of the optional-use thrust reversing to shorten rollouts after landing and for other special ground handling capabilities. It all adds up to deliver a mid-sized, full-house and high-performance EDF jet experience unlike any other for low-time to experienced jet pilots!

Skill Level 2 – Some Experience Required
Skill Level 2 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for RC pilots who already have some experience and the skills to assemble, set up, and fly similar class models. And although this BNF Basic version is equipped with AS3X and optional-use SAFE Select that makes it easier to fly than PNP versions, it's not a suitable first-ever RC aircraft for new pilots, a "next step after a trainer" model for low-time RC pilots, or first EDF (Electric Ducted Fan)/jet model for intermediate pilots. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly simpler EDF models like the E-flite Habu SS (Super Sport) 50mm or 70mm, F-15 Eagle 64mm, and/or higher performance sport models like the V900 and V1200, or warbirds like the 1.2m and 1.5m series models, before attempting to fly the Viper 70mm EDF.

If you are, the Viper is not a suitable first-ever RC model and we recommend learning to fly with one of our purpose-built trainer aircraft such as the E-flite® Habu STS (Smart Trainer with SAFE) 70mm EDF (www.horizonhobby.cc/HabuSTSRTF). It's equipped with exclusive and innovative SAFE technology that makes it possible for almost anyone to learn to fly successfully! The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) Basic version includes almost everything needed to fly (except for a compatible LiPo battery and charger that are sold separately) and is a perfect choice if you're a new RC pilot!

Exclusive Technologies
This mid-sized Viper model is equipped with exclusive Spektrum™ AS3X® and SAFE® Select technologies. AS3X works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence to deliver a locked-in feel that makes it seem like you're flying a much larger airplane. Optional-use SAFE Select offers pitch and bank angle limits along with automatic self-leveling that can be turned on and off at the flip of a switch! And if you don't want to enable the SAFE Select features, simply bind the receiver normally and only AS3X will be active.
Smart Technology
The exclusive Spektrum Avian Smart Lite ESC provides a variety of real-time power system-related telemetry data including overall battery voltage, current draw, motor RPM, and more – with Smart and non-Smart batteries – via compatible receivers (including the AR631) and Spektrum AirWare™ equipped transmitters (including the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6 to 20, iX12 to 20 and others) while you fly. Plus, optional-use motor/thrust reversing can help shorten rollout after landing and offers other special ground handling capabilities (7–8+ channel transmitter required for reversing).

Electric Retracts
The steerable nose wheel and wide-spaced main gear feature reliable electric retract units equipped with metal components to deliver excellent ground handling.
