Help martins find a perfect roosting spot in your yard with the S&K Great Eight Purple Martin House. The classic shape on this home evokes an apartment complex, with its dual levels and pitched roof. The Purple Martin House has eight separate compartments, each measuring 8.25" long, 8.5" wide, and 6" high, for the comfort of your martins. The white sides help regulate the internal temperature of the home, while the green roof brings a touch of color to it. Each crescent shaped entry hole allows martins passage into the shelter, while preventing starlings from overtaking the home. An integrated nest cup on the base of each compartment helps martins place their eggs safely and centrally, while the textured plastic offers a secure grip. Porches beneath each entrance create takeoff and landing spots for the birds, and the extended floors on each unit add even more vantage points. Rain canopies above the entries protect the units from the elements, as do the overhang and gutters on the dark green, pitched roof. Each panel, accommodating the entries, lifts upward for nest checks and maintenance, and snaps into place with tabs on the black base. The UV stabilized, copolymer plastic construction ensures a lasting home, and the unit snaps together for assembly without requiring any tools. A 2" diameter opening through the center of the structure accommodates the S&K Galvanized Steel Easy Pulley System Martin House Pole (not included), so you can mount this unit at its necessary height. Enjoy wonderful martins colonizing in your area with this Great Eight Purple Martin House. Assembly required. Made in the USA.

Good Reading
Format: Paperback
The third book we chose to read for our summer reading program was Not That Pet! I am a nanny of a six-year-old girl going into first grade. It’s fun seeing a child’s eyes light up when a book or story engages their imagination. This story was another hit. This was an entertaining read! This is a rhyming read-aloud story that had us both giggling from the beginning of the story to the end. The main character, Mabel, is allowed to pick the family pet. She is determined to find the perfect pet. Her choices had us groaning, ‘oh nooo’ while shaking our heads and laughing out loud. We couldn’t read fast enough to see Mabel’s next choice. Her final decision was unpredictable. We couldn’t believe the final choice was a…. well, you’ll just have to read the story yourself to find out. The illustrations themselves had us smirking. We took the time to really look at the pages and discovered small details that really added to the enjoyment of the story. We read this story several times which is an indicator that this book is a keeper. Enjoy reading Summer 2023! originally posted at long and short reviews

As good As It Get
Format: Kindle
I read the second book in this cottage series about smart town/village life in the Cotswolds before this first one. Both are so very very good and touching. Can't wait to read the third one in this series. These sapphic HEA romances are as good as it gets.

Sweet, Escapist, and Good Characters
Format: Kindle
I enjoyed the setting of this book. I love a book with a good sense of place. The chemistry between the characters was good and built through the story, I thought the book could have benefited from heavier editing. I appreciated the good dialogue, but it seemed unnecessarily copious at times, putting a drag on the forward motion of the story. Worth my time - absolutely.

Bravo!
Format: Kindle
"For two people who love words, we f***ing suck at communication." These words, uttered near the end of the book, really describe the relationship between Josie and Harriett (Harry). They have both built their careers on the crafting of words, but when it comes to them communicating with each other, there are many misunderstandings, foot-in-mouth moments, and missed opportunities to say how they feel. That, along with each one's hesitation to make the first move, causes the sexual tension to build and build, so when they finally do get together... well, you don't want to miss that! The contrast of Josie, the American, and Harry, the Brit, is fun. The story is heart-warming. The banter is enjoyable and doesn't seem like it's just filling space in the book. The supporting characters are colorful and have depth. I really enjoyed it, so I say, "Bravo, TB Markinson! A standing ovation from me!"
