Vinyl LP pressing. Frakkur was the artist name Jónsi used to define his experiments in electronic music in the early years of the 21st century. Working on his own, either at home in Reykjavík, in hotel rooms on tour with Sigur Rós, or later at his boyfriend's house in Boston, Jónsi spent endless hours diving into then-new bits of kit and programming. The oldest, 2000-2001, was made on Jónsi's first PC laptop, named The Tank for it's unwieldy size. A record of unrequited love for a straight boy at home in Reykjavík, SFTLB was Jónsi way of dealing with heartbreak via sampling kalimbas and music boxes and channelling it all through the Fruity Loops program. The second, 2002-2003, was made in his small flat in the middle of Reykjavík, where he set up his first home studio in a cupboard, so that it could be packed away at night. He had a Yamaha RS-7000 with 32mb memory in the top drawer, which he called the Grey Machine and used to sample the beat-up toys he'd collect from local goodwill stores. Jónsi recalls it as a time "filled with blinding sunlight and pure fun creative energy".

No show but stays on
Size: Medium, Color: (014) Halo Gray / Halo Gray / Castlerock
I wear these socks daily. They truly don’t show with my workout shoes or with hey dudes. But the best thing about them is that they actually stay on your foot. I work out hard and I don’t ever have to pull them up. I do wish they were just a little bit thicker than they are, but they are definitely a product I will buy again.

Post-COVID Sock Hunt: Finally a Win
Size: Medium, Color: (001) Black / Black / White
Ever since COVID, I haven’t been able to find a pair of socks that hold up for more than a few months. Brands like UA, Adidas, and others seem to have cut corners—likely in response to inflation—by downgrading materials and labor rather than raising prices. The result? Socks that wear thin, rip easily, or lose shape fast.
These, however, have been a pleasant surprise. I’ve been wearing them for a few weeks and so far, they’re holding strong. You can tell some cost-saving measures were still made—certain areas feel slightly thinner—but overall, the construction is solid.
A key win: they stay on. These are ankle socks (not “no-shows”), and they hug the ankle securely. That’s a huge plus in a world where most post-COVID no-shows slide off halfway through the day.
We may never get back to the pre-COVID quality standards without paying a premium, but for now, these are a reliable choice.
Ratings:
• No slipping: 10/10
• Price: 7/10
• Durability (so far): No pilling or loose threads — promising start.
